100 year old vines, Tempranillo, Spain
During lockdown the 100 Year old vines was one of most popular wines. When we reduced our range earlier this year we had come to the conclusion that we had a little too much Spanish Tempranillo and it was given the chop. Still it's a bloody great wine and this really is the last of the lot.
Old vines make great wines because although the vine produces a lot less fruit - the fruit that it does produce is of a higher quality and more concentrated.
Garnet red in colour, with hints of spice and summer fruits on the nose, with a lengthy finish with apparent tannins and integrated acidity. It’s that softness and plushness that is a result of the old vines which makes it a delightful drinking experience.
