Collines-Rhodaiennes Pinot Noir Schistes, 2018 Jean-Luc Jamet, France

Jean-Luc Jamet worked for many years alongside his brother Jean-Paul, at the iconic family estate, Domaine Jamet. However in 2013 the brothers split the 16 hectare estate evenly, into two 8 hectare properties.

This isn't Pinot as you know it. It's beyond the most powerful burgundies, and undeniably Rhone. I wasn't sure at first because why would you want a big bold Pinot if you drink Pinot for the more delicate element, but it works - it's just a very well structured wine.
