Grillo is a crossing of Catarratto and Moscato di Alessandria grapes, Grillo was once used exclusively in Marsala production. Plantings declined in the 1960s, when producers opted for more vigorous varieties.
New to our range we believe that this wine is sensational. This Sicilian wine is made from selected Grillo grapes which have been harvested by hand in the Hills of central-western Sicily, located in the remote areas of the province of Trapani, which is the Ideal area for the Grillo.
The Irmàna has intensity you would expect from top end Burgundy and will take you straight back to sitting in your favourite part of the Mediterranean. This wine offers everything you expect from a Grillo grape being super rich and full of flavour with strong floral elements from the Moscato di Alessandria.
