Ke Bonta Gavi, Italy (bottle price £12)

We visited this winery a couple of years ago for a tasting weekend.

Gavi is a town in northern Italy, its wines can only be made from the Cortese grape. It has gained in popularity over the past few years and the Ke Bonta is an example of why.

Zesty citrus fruit and lightly floral characters, with hints of apple and pear. Fresh, steely acidity and underlying mineral characters, balanced by notes of melon and stone fruit, and a touch of fennel.
