Principe Pallavicini Roma Rosso, Italy
This was in the Italian Luke's Case and was very popular. A brilliant wine made up of 50% Montepulciano 30% Syrah 20% Cesanese. The vineyards are situated 300 metres above sea level in the classic area of Castelli Romani, situated between the ancient volcanic area of southern Lazio and Rome. Soils here are volcanic and particularly fertile. The vines are aged between 15 and 30 years old. More known for the wines of Abruzzo - Montepulciano is one of the most planted grapes in the country. I think this is a cracking expression of the grape and region and the blend gives it even more body and texture.
